Creative Writing Winter Reading
by Aiden Morgan On January 14th the Creative writing department held their annual Winter Reading. Several writers performed including Alicia Gentle, Kahmya Wilson, Leah Unger, Grace Lackey, Camden O’Connell, Koa Myers, Nadiya Abdi, Emma Roof, Alexis Nallo, Ally Gibson, Natalee Potter, Bristol Whipp, Ava Mueller, Arri Frederick and Maya Davis. Everyone did a spectacular job at the department's first event of the new year. There were so many unique works throughout the event.

Piano and Guitar Recital
by Eleanor Clayton On December 11th, the BISFA Instrumental Department held the Piano and Guitar Recital. The concert started with a piano quartet playing “A Portrait of Old New Orleans” by Eugenie Rocherolle. It was a great piece which the pianists performed beautifully. They were followed by 19 guitar and piano soloists. The concert ended with the guitar ensemble’s excellent performance of “Córdoba” by Isaac Albéniz. Gratitude for the BISFA Guitar Ensemble
by Eleanor Clayton As Thanksgiving approaches, it’s a great time to reflect on what we’re thankful for. As a sophomore guitarist, something I’m extremely grateful for is my guitar ensemble. At the beginning of last year, I felt overwhelmed and was certain I’d be a terrible fit at BISFA. Not only did the guitarists offer the support and comfort I needed to feel confident, they taught me to think of my art not as a standard I have to meet, but as something to throw myself into.
