Valentine's Day is widely known as a day of love and bringing people together. What better way to do that than a sweet treat? Here is a short guide for what to bake for your special someone this valentine day, or any day!

Brownies are a form of chocolate cake that tastes deliciously fudgy. Although many people debate the best aspects of the chocolate treat, whether it's the corner or the middle, its chewy texture or the stiff edges.

Brownie's original purpose was to be a small desert woman could easily carry around with them while attending expositions. The chefs at the Palmer House Hotel-- located in Chicago, Illinois-- in turn took this task in stride, which ended up with the creation of the first recorded brownie in history.

The history for this staple food can be traced back 85 years, to 1938, where the first batch was made in the Toll House Restaurant by Ruth Wakefield. Where the cookies were actually first marketed as an accompaniment to Ice cream! Toll House is now one of the leading brands of chocolate chips, still used in chocolate chip cookie making today!
