On December 11th, the BISFA Instrumental Department held the Piano and Guitar Recital. The concert started with a piano quartet playing “A Portrait of Old New Orleans” by Eugenie Rocherolle. It was a great piece which the pianists performed beautifully. They were followed by 19 guitar and piano soloists. The concert ended with the guitar ensemble’s excellent performance of “Córdoba” by Isaac Albéniz.

The soloists included Jadon Foster who performed “Gnossienne No.1” by Erik Satie and “Rose in the Garden” by Carlo Domeniconi. He played “Gnossienne” with amazing technique and effectively conveyed the mysterious mood. “Rose in the Garden” had good phrasing and he played it with passion. Ava Landaverde performed “Song without Words, op.52, No.1” by Felix Mendelssohn. She demonstrated incredible talent throughout her entire song. She is extremely good at expressing the emotion in her piece. Ryan Franko performed phenomenal versions of “Lágrima” and “Adelita” by Francisco Tárrega. Lágrima was very fun to listen to. Adelita was full of emotion. Ryan had clearly put a lot of time and effort into his songs.

Congratulations to everyone who performed in the Piano and Guitar Recital!
